Three Charged Over Daylight Shooting Outside Sydney Gym

Authorities have charged three men in connection with a brazen daylight shooting that occurred outside a gym in Sydney’s south-west late last year, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

The incident took place around 8:30 a.m. on December 5, 2025, outside a World Gym facility in Gregory Hills. According to NSW Police Force, two armed suspects approached a 48-year-old man and fired approximately 12 shots. Despite the intensity of the attack, the intended target escaped unharmed and fled to safety.

Police allege the suspects fled the scene in a red Range Rover SUV, which was later discovered abandoned in Cobbitty. Investigators reported finding critical evidence in nearby bushland, including firearms, clothing, masks, and cloned license plates.

Following months of investigation, officers conducted coordinated raids on March 30, 2026. A 40-year-old man was arrested in Parramatta and charged with attempted murder and directing a criminal group. Shortly after, a 32-year-old man was apprehended in Burwood and also charged with multiple offences, including attempted murder.

Both suspects were denied bail and are scheduled to appear in court on May 28.

A third man, aged 38, was arrested in Silverwater the following day and faces similar charges. He is expected to appear in bail court soon.

The NSW Police Force confirmed that investigations are ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details surrounding the motive and any additional suspects involved.

This high-profile case has raised concerns about public safety and organized criminal activity in parts of New South Wales.
