Armed Robber Jailed After Threatening Delivery Workers with Cleaver in Stockton-on-Tees

A violent robbery in Stockton-on-Tees has led to the imprisonment of 26-year-old Keaton Harbron, who terrorized delivery workers with a meat cleaver during a brazen van theft.

The incident occurred in the Hardwick area when Harbron, alongside accomplices including Macy Waite, targeted a Currys delivery van as workers were unloading goods. According to court proceedings, Harbron brandished a meat cleaver and repeatedly swung it at the victims, leaving one worker fearing for his life.

The group then hijacked the van and attempted to escape, crashing into parked vehicles during their reckless getaway. They later began unloading televisions from the stolen vehicle before police arrived on the scene. Despite fleeing empty-handed, all suspects were arrested later the same day.

Harbron pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a bladed weapon and was sentenced to four years in prison. Waite received a three-year sentence for her role in the crime. The court also highlighted Harbron’s extensive criminal history, including previous robbery offenses.

This case underscores the growing dangers faced by delivery drivers and frontline workers, raising ongoing concerns about safety in the logistics sector.
